The Climate Atlas of Canada (www.climateatlas.ca) is a leading research and educational resource on climate change in Canada, which is the flagship project of the Prairie Climate Centre (PCC), based at the University of Winnipeg. PCC follows an evidence-based approach to developing content for the Climate Atlas and, with support from the Public Health Agency of Canada, has engaged health experts, professionals, and community members across the country to create and test a series of public communications materials on infectious diseases and climate change. Using interviews, focus groups, and surveys the PCC has explored a range of issues -- tick-borne Lyme disease, mosquito-borne diseases including West Nile virus, and water-borne diseases -- and has created numerous knowledge mobilization products. In this webinar, PCC researchers will present on their approach and lessons learned for communication and public engagement to support adaptive behaviours in the face of climate-affected infectious diseases.
